REPRESENTATIVE PERRY BAILEY ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY IN SPECIAL ELECTION FOR HOUSE DISTRICT 23
Vows to offer unmatched experience, and a proven conservative record to effectively serve District 23- on day one.
Calhoun City, MS (February 5th, 2025) – Representative Perry Bailey (2023) announced today he will seek election in the upcoming special election to fill the vacancy created by the death of Representative Andy Stepp.
“Following prayer and discussion with family along with many fellow District 23 leaders and constituents, I’m proud to announce my candidacy in the March 25th special election for state representative” Bailey said.
“As Representative, I will once again use my experience and qualifications as a small businessman along with my passion to serve others to be an effective, conservative, strong common-sense leader for our district.
Bailey continued by saying “Our district is in need of stable, effective leadership and my experience as a legislator uniquely qualifies me to be that leader, from day one, by utilizing my existing relationships with incumbent legislators and leadership as well as my understanding of the complex, tedious process of the process which will be well underway upon the swearing in of our next representative”.
During his tenure as state representative Bailey delivered over 600 million in road and bridge improvements, increased funding for students and teachers and fought to strengthen our public safety entities.
Bailey said one of the things he’s most looking forward to if returned to the legislature is the opportunity to fight to implement President Trump’s agenda whereas his previous service was spent opposing President Biden’s agenda.
Bailey is the owner of Bailey farms and is a lifelong resident of District 23 where he and his wife decided to raise their family. They have two children and five grandchildren.
Representative Bailey is a lifelong Republican, a staunch 2nd amendment supporter and is pro-life. The special election will be held on March 25. House district 23 includes Calhoun, Lafayette, Pontotoc and Webster counties.
Mississippi law requires candidates to run as “independent” in special elections, but Bailey is a Republican and said he will, as he did in his prior service, serve as a Republican legislator and caucus with the Republican Party.
